The program showcases some of the world's leading fashion models, such as current Victoria's Secret Angels Adriana Lima, Alessandra Ambrosio, Miranda Kerr, Doutzen Kroes, Behati Prinslo, Candice Swanepoel, Erin Heatherton, Lily Aldridge, and Lindsay Ellingson. The program is broadcasted on American online television during prime time. The first few performances in the 1990s were held before Valentine's Day, with the aim of promoting the brand during this holiday season. They were not broadcasted on national television. In 1999 and 2000, the program was live streamed online. Since 2001, these programs have started before the Christmas holiday. In the same year of 2001, the program was broadcasted online on ABC, although it continued to air on CBS in the following years. The program is held in multiple locations in different cities such as Miami, Los Angeles, and Cannes. The first four performances were held at the Plaza Hotel in New York City, but as it has become a televised event, it is most commonly held at the Lexington Avenue Armory in New York City. This performance is a luxurious event with carefully dressed underwear, different music from top artists, and set designs based on different themes during the performance. Every year, 20 to 40 of the world's top fashion models are selected to participate in fashion shows.
