Mga Pangandoy is a movie that tells the story of a young girl struggling to find a job after graduating from college. Her life represents thousands of young Filipinos who hope to have a promising career in this country after graduation, but due to the low demand for decent work, they have to take the risk of working in other countries where they can obtain high paying jobs and broader opportunities. With rapid population growth and economic challenges, the Philippines is unable to provide sufficient employment opportunities for Filipinos. Therefore, no matter how capable young people are, they will choose to work abroad, where their talents will be appreciated more and they will receive good compensation. In fact, this has led to a brain drain in the Philippines, thereby reducing opportunities for economic improvement. This film is a participant in the International Labour Organization's video competition on decent work for youth and has made it to the top 15 finals.
