Julian is a 12-year-old boy. In the early 1960s, his family barely managed to make ends meet in the Ruhr industrial zone in Germany. After his mother and sister left for some time, his father worked in the coal mine, and he spent most of the time alone in the apartment. He must face the confused world of adults, older boys and older girls next door alone. Finally, the development of the situation may break the family apart.
