This film created by Umberto Renzi in the early 1970s is undoubtedly the best in his film history and the best in the entire genre. Personally, I think Renzi's best movies are the comics adapted comedy film "Kriminal", the fashionable "giallo Seven Blood Stained Orchids", the explosive "Napoli Viola", and so on. In the 1980s, he made a lot of movie junk in the form of "The Living," "Heather in the Dark," or "The Black Devil," all of which were plagiarism and/or very tedious and slow movements. Ice Knife appeared at the peak of the Jaro craze, and its results were convincing. Technically speaking, this movie is very outstanding. At the beginning, we learned about the protagonist's trauma to the train, which includes excellent photography skills. From this point on, Renzi showed us his ability to use a wide screen, for example, riding a bicycle near the forest is really beautiful! This scene also demonstrates Lenz's ability to create suspense, very slowly but meaningfully. After all, the entire movie doesn't have so many murder cases, only the suspense circulating around the identity of the killer. A suspect is a devil worshiper, which brings new aspects to this mystery. Since the last scene occurred in the church, people can doubt whether Renzi wanted to comment on something, perhaps due to hypocritical church morale and superstition. The protagonist (played by Carol Baker) is silent, which places high demands on her face and eyes. This actress performed very well and gave us a credible performance centered around emotions of fear and mental pain. Other actors are also good. However, 'The Last' may not have a very positive impact on female gender, as they are expressed in a relatively negative way in the film. Nevertheless, this can easily become the most noteworthy film of this genre, unlike the bloody "Argento" film, but equally suspenseful and visually interesting.
