Fei Si himself quickly reciprocated Ahab's love because Derek was a dull and disgraceful person. However, on his next voyage, Ahab was thrown a leg by the giant beluga whale, the beluga whale. When he returned to New Bedford, he mistakenly believed that Faith did not want to have any relationship with him due to his disfigurement.
