Old Meishan: Berkeley Meditation Center, "Life Inside the Door" tells the story of Berkeley Meditation Institute, which is one of the oldest self-sustaining centers of practice in the United States. Through the experience of its members practicing the ancient rituals of Soto Zen, doing mindfulness work, cooking and serving dishes, and sitting meditation, Old Meishan describes how this practice greatly changes, challenges, and sustains their lives. Since 1970, the Berkeley Zen Center has provided a place to practice meditation, which is a Soto meditation path of spiritual and self exploration. Through interviews, sharing activities, and rituals, 'Old Meishan' answered these questions and described how the pace of practice and life have changed.
