The 1953 Formula One season was the seventh season of FIA Formula One racing. It only includes some non championship racing cars. As in 1952, the International Automobile Federation has chosen to limit all Grand Prix races included in the World Drivers' Championship to cars that comply with Formula 2 rules, rather than cars that comply with Formula 1. The fourth FIA World Drivers' Championship began on January 18th and ended on September 13th after nine races, with Alberto Ascari driving the Ferrari team to win the championship. Ascari became the first driver to successfully defend his championship title.
