The connections between place names, a branch of linguistics, and political science may be unexpected. Jonathan Perel's new film attempts to reveal these, using his film works as tools to explore and accurately document the traces left by the former dictator of Argentina. We are located in Tucum á n Province in northern Argentina, a symbolic region that signed South America's first Independence Act in 1816 and witnessed the "Independence Operation" in 1974, during which guerrilla rebellions were violently suppressed.
