Cl é o Cohen's directorial debut is a personal investigation into her own identity. She is the granddaughter of a Jewish Arab who has immigrated to France from Tunisia and Algeria in the past. In an intimate scene, Cohen asks her grandparents about their life experiences in front of the camera. Are they more closely related to Judaism or to their Arab background? What are their views on their current homeland, France, a former colonial power? Do they think they are African or European? How do they hope to see their descendants form their own identity? Their answers are sometimes very clear, and sometimes even more mysterious. During the interview break, Cohen sought inspiration in the works of Jewish French Tunisian writer Albert Mehme (1920-2020). In the context of Cohen's consistent personal style, informal dialogue has sparked reflection among the older and younger generations of members.
