The story takes place in the 24th century, decades after the adventures of the original crew of the Starship Enterprise, and this new series is the successor to the long-awaited Star Trek; Star Trek; (1966). Under the command of Captain Jean Luc Picard, the all-new Enterprise NCC 1701-D traveled to distant planets, searching for new life, and boldly went to places no one had ever visited before.
