The inspiration for 'The Golden Boat' comes from the American police series, mixed with Mexican soap operas, immersed in the artistic background of underground art scenes in New York in the early 1990s. On the street, Isla Williams, a young student majoring in philosophy and criticism from "The Voice of the Countryside," meets Austin, an injured old man who desperately falls in love with a soap opera star. Although Austin was stabbed several times, he didn't seem to be affected by the injuries and refused to see a doctor. He requested Israel to help him find his estranged son. When Israel discovered that the old man was actually a murderer, things became complicated. Israel will soon be lost in a strange world composed of international celebrities, Marxist employees, and postmodern literary critics. Quickly summarized as an absurd odyssey, traveling through downtown Manhattan with a sweet old serial killer, a student rock critic, and international bohemians. This movie revolves around curious student Israel and knife loving Austin. The criminals in the movie become numb and/or numb, with themes focused on death, confusion, madness, cowardice, and loneliness. Of course, there are more questions raised than answers given, and the narrative seems to unfold in a way similar to the narrative of life. This movie was mainly shot in color, and during the filming process, the audio or music seemed to disrupt the visual effect through rapid cutting in and out techniques. Ruiz jumped back and forth a lot between color and black and white visual effects, during which music seemed to play different roles because in black and white shots, music seemed to add color to the visual effects in a hyper dramatic way.
