This movie starts slowly and directly. Very good, but it's almost an ordinary story. The background is Bucharest in the 1920s, and we can feel that time and place. We have understood the distinct characteristics of all characters. Emilia is promiscuous. Radima is too good, too Platonic (upright person). Fred fell madly in love with a woman (Mrs. T), but there was nothing but sadness and pain. We believe that the only remaining true mystery is Mrs. T. Money issues, entertainment industry, newspaper censorship. It walked quietly, but very well. Petru Vutcarau portrayed Fred in the movie, demonstrating extraordinary talent.
