Internet cafes and lazy people, less innocent female students and amateur pornography using Google Glass, Mayans and the end of the world, psychedelic journeys and guinea pigs as temporary exorcists: The events in Lima, the capital of Peru, are very similar to contemporary reality in other parts of the world, whether fictional or otherwise. In this "Comedy Tragedy", the versatile Juan Daniel F. Molero took us on a digital journey through all the treacherous paths on the "Internet". Peruvian female student Luz looks much more naive than she actually is. She met Junior online, and Junior spends most of his time playing games in internet cafes. His ambition is to make a living by filming amateur pornographic films. Junior was obsessed with the Mayan predictions of the end of the world and did everything you shouldn't have done with Google Glass. It is obvious that his temptation to the cute Luce will have adverse consequences. But for whom? Videophilia (and other viral syndromes) is full of pixels and glitches, featuring a journey of psychedelic acid in ancient ruins and guinea pig exorcism, making it a captivating non love story and a reflection of today's life. The generation of Molero grew up in the booming Internet and is confident of the endless opportunities and freedom provided by this new media. Molero's documentary "Memories" was released in Rotterdam in 2010, paying tribute to the power of (misleading) images in his debut work. As shown in this movie, the controversial strategy adopted by Peruvian President Fujimori (1990-2000) to divert the attention of the Peruvian people from what truly matters (using sensational tabloids filled with stories of murder, sex, celebrities, corruption, and supernatural activities) is still being fully exploited.
