In this upcoming 6 x 1 hour BBC2 TV series, Simon Reeve embarks on his most exotic and extreme adventure to date on the beautiful edge of the Indian Ocean. Starting from South Africa, Simon traveled along the coast of the Indian Ocean, along the east coast of Africa, along India, and back to southwestern Australia along the west coast of Indonesia. This extraordinary adventure took Simon to 16 countries, where he braved the terror of the frontline conflict in Mogadishu, Somalia, and visited the beautiful Maldives, Mauritius, and Seychelles. Somalia may be the most dangerous place in the world. On the journey, Simon traveled by boat, car, train, and plane. He encountered pirates, scuba diving with sharks, patrolling with Dutch special forces, fishing with spears underwater, dining at an underwater restaurant, stumbling into a dilapidated drug den, visiting a five-star seaside palace where thousands of refugees lived, meeting a Yorkshire man on his Seychelles Paradise Island, and getting up close to stunning wildlife in the Indian Ocean, including lemurs, penguins, dolphins, elephants, and mantas.
