"Peak Hospital" is a clay children's television program produced in 1999. It consists of 52 pairs of 10 minute shorts. The drama is directed by Pascal Le N ? tre and produced in English, French (H ? pital Hilltop), German (Klinik H ü gelheim), and Dutch (Heuvelandziekenhuis). This series is adapted from a series of books of the same name by Nicholas Allen. ZDF began airing short films in 2003. The theme song and accompanying music for the English version of the series were created by Ben Heneghan and Ian Lawson, who also created music for the original Fireman Sam series and Joshua Jones. It was released in the UK by Buena Vista Home Video in 2000 and Maverick Entertainment in 2006. It tells the story of a hospital composed of animals, mainly consisting of young animals as patients. Common characters include: Dr. Matthews, a dog, seeking the romantic attention of surgeon Sally. Nurse Katie, a cat, sought the romantic attention of Dr. Matthews, who largely overlooked it. Surgeon Sally, a hippopotamus, a workaholic surgeon, doesn't have time to catch the attention of Dr. Matthews. Claire and Arthur, two mice, provide technical and laboratory services. Dr. Atticus, a turtle, is an anesthesiologist who often sleeps. These two Teds are identical twin bears. They drive hospital ambulances and serve as attendants. The English version is voiced by Kevin Whatly (Dr. Matthews), Sally Ann Marsh (Nurse Kitty), Celia Imrie (Surgeon Sally), Paul Shane (Two Teds), Brian Murphy (Dr. Atticus), Julie Higginson (Experimental Mouse Clare), and Jonathan Kydd (Experimental Mouse Arthur). Guest voiceovers include Thora Hird, who played the elegant Gracier on the last day of Gracier.
