本片從頭到尾都被濃濃的憂郁,
深沉的壓抑情緒籠罩著,
使人看得快要窒息.
而影片的最后,
tony用刀刺死自己母親,
那一刻,
感覺所有的情緒都頓時釋放出來.
影片是以第一人稱的敘述方式來講述這個悲劇.
以tony的一生為主線,
講述他的成長以及周圍的變化.
當中,
最核心的人物就是tony的母親Barbara.
她從一開始就依戀著,溺愛著自己的兒子,
以至到后來與兒子亂倫,
也是出于對兒子的愛,
想把他從同性愛中扭轉(zhuǎn)過來.
可想言之,
她對tony的愛是如此的劇烈,
如此的令人匪夷所思.

「I was eating a tomato at tea time a few weeks ago, and I suddenly realized that mommy is not dead at all. Just very, very mysterious.」
「Tony takes care of Jake. Tony takes care of Barbara. Someone must take care of Tony.」

第二遍看時才發(fā)現(xiàn)，Tony患有雙重人格.
有兩條線索，狗的飯碗和寫給父親的信，一明一暗的變化表明身份的更替.一者在照顧母親，不再去找丟失的飯碗，信的內(nèi)容也安全是向父親祈求回到母親身邊;另一個則是渴望父親離開前一家的生活，他還沒有長大，最后也捅死了對自己控制欲過強的母親.
其實最開始有個表露，是小茶杯那句“你在照顧所有人，你在照顧芭芭拉，那誰在照顧Tony.”我還以為這只是調(diào)情.
他在最后的對話中，芭芭拉不知道他在說什么，以及兩件事情的交織，故意使觀眾混淆
